Supporting the local community
As a company it’s important for us to do our part for the wider community. For that reason, we have a dedicated in-house charity committee made up of employees from across the business who are passionate for helping others.
Businesses can have such a positive impact for their local area and for that reason the first way we decided to help was by taking part in YorkMix’s Toy Appeal. YorkMix is a York radio station who, in partnership with ASDA and Monks Cross organised a donation spot for people to donate toys, which local charities then hand out to children who might otherwise not receive a gift.
A few members of our charity committee purchased and then donated over £500 worth of toys to the toy appeal on behalf of Simpson Associates. The toy appeal helps to make sure that no child wakes up without a gift to open on Christmas Day. This Christmas will be hard for many, so we’re delighted to be able to make a difference to a child’s Christmas.
In addition, we also raised money for British Heart Foundation by hosting a quiz for the whole company. Nearly everyone got involved which was great, and so far, we’ve raised over £200.
