Microsoft Power Query provides a powerful data import experience that encompasses many features.
Power Query works with Analysis Services, Excel and Power BI workbooks. A core capability of Power Query is to filter and combine data from one or more of a rich collection of supported data sources. Any such data mashup is expressed using the Power Query M Formula Language. It’s a functional, case sensitive language similar to F#.
Join Simpson Associates and Phoenix on Wednesday 20 January at 10 am, where we will take you through Power Query and the language behind it – M. We will talk about its structure and syntax and why it’s useful to know and when to use it instead of Data Analysis Expressions (DAX). He will then go through an example of how to create a table from scratch using nothing but M.
