Data Analytics Monthly Forum

How to get data integration right

Tuesday 1st July 2025

12pm – 1pm

This event is a webinar

Join us for our July Data Analytics Monthly Forum and explore how you can get data integration right!

Our monthly data forum is designed to bring together organisations of all sizes to discuss the latest trends and challenges in the data landscape.

Our Data Analytics Monthly Forum, is now bigger and better than ever! Our primary goal is to ensure that you derive maximum benefits from these sessions and that we consistently deliver value to you. For that reason, we encourage you to reach out to us about topics you’d like to see covered and engage in discussions during the forums.

This month, we’re tackling a topic that’s foundational, frequently discussed, but rarely explored in full: data integration.

In the data space, ‘integration’ is a word that is used a lot but is it understood. On the surface, integration sounds simple – connecting systems and joining up data – however, the term itself often means different things to different people and teams.

Join us on the 1st of July where we’ll be unpacking what integration means in the context of real-work data work. We’ll explore the difference between doing integration and implementing an integration approach, focused on your data needs.

Agenda

  • Making sense of ‘data integration’: We’ll start the session by going back to basics, giving you a better understanding of the term ‘integration’ in the world of data.
  • Avoiding the Power BI-as-integration trap: Sometimes, organisations use business intelligence platforms, such as Power BI, as stand-ins for integration. We’ll unpack why this happens and what the risks are.
  • Data integration, designed for you: We’ll break down some of the numerous data integration options including data factory, Azure services and data virtualisation, discussing both the benefits and drawbacks of each.
  • Scenario-led insights: We’ll dive into a number of scenarios, investigating how these approaches have succeeded in real-world settings, highlighting how you can match integration design to the scale, speed and needs of your organisation.

You’ll gain insights into the number of different data integration methods – from Azure integration services to Master Data Management to data virtualisation.

Whether you are hands-on or high-level, if you have ever had to connect systems, align teams, or answer the question ‘how do we join this up?’, then this session is for you.
