Barratt Development’s data journey for enhanced reporting capability

Join Simpson Associates, Barratt Developments and Microsoft on Tuesday 11th May for this webinar focused on the challenges UK House Builders face within data transformation. 

Barratt Developments, a long time partner of Simpson Associates, embarked on their data management strategy back in 2019, with the objective of moving towards an enterprise data warehouse to support the data and reporting needs of the business. 

The initial phase saw a data warehouse being built to support a series of reports that were being generated via Home Builder, Barratt’s internal bespoke system. The main objective of the solution was to gain a centralised version of the data, providing reporting capability via Power BI.  

The Power BI reports created, running off an Azure Datawarehouse, enabled Barratt’s to see accurate data relating to such areas as Plot Reservation figures, drilling down by date or region using the Map visual. A whole range of dashboards were built to show a variety of House metrics, such as house brand by plot count, revenue generated by their product mix (house type/size), Purchase type and Scheme Type, and Build Stage.
