Building foundations for the future

Dealing with change and the implications of change is a complex situation for most institutions, especially where we need to maintain business as usual systems and services while establishing new and updated systems and services. Now, more than ever, we need to look at how we introduce new infrastructure, systems and frameworks and establish new services, but to effectively do this, it is critical that we build secure efficient foundations for the future as we adapt and move forward.

Having a sound, but flexible base will help us to adapt quickly to new challenges, delivery models and technologies and will allow us to operate in environments where system interoperability and hybrid infrastructures are the norm. The sector continues to face many challenges from national and international competition, to uncertainties over Brexit and changing funding models. Our data landscape is also evolving as is our data governance and reporting responsibilities. Without an appropriate foundation we will not have the agility to meet our stakeholder’s requirements in a timely manner.
