During a recent site visit we found that IBM Cognos 10.1.1 could not print PDF Cognos reports. We received the following error:

Failure RSV-DST-0014 Unable to deliver the output of the report. See the run history details for more information. Ensure that the required services are started. Ensure that the user account is configured to distribute the output in the requested manner.

After a lengthy investigation, we found this was down to Adobe 10’s ‘Protected Mode’. To turn this off follow the below instructions:

On each server running Cognos and Adobe 10, edit a registry key to disable Adobe’s ‘Protected Mode’:




When changed reboot all Cognos servers and you will now be able to print PDF reports from Cognos!
